'Expert' advice turns harebrained

Yesterday (Sat 8th May) we referred two works to an external expert, Professor Stig Evans, who was called in to look into matters chromatic and conservationist. One of the patients - a painting on a cardboard box - was the cause of some concern due to its extreme redness, and professor Evans' advice was sought in this regard. Unfortunately his analysis was so outlandishly absurd that eventually he had to be ushered from the building, as we became anxious that the extreme tenor of his arguments might become harmful to other patients. It would take up too much space here to summarize his opinions - I shall be writing up a report in due course - suffice to say that Mr. Bartlett and myself were sadly forced to conclude that Professor Evans is, in fact, quite mad.

  1. We should refrain from using terms such as 'mad'. Need I stress that this might seem insensitive or backfire on us in other ways?
