The Diary of a Trainee
As we work, I am reminded of the need to do nothing save for writing numbers on small 'tags' with a permanent marker. I some times fill out a 'docket' but forget to put the carbon paper underneath, or some times I put it round the wrong way so I have to write it out again.
If I am lucky the doctor asks me for a pair of scissors, which are on his desk but out of his sight. On a good day he brings black sweets to the surgery and eats them infront of me.
Yesterday, a sunday, the doctor was couteous enough to entertain the idea that we might engage in a conversation about a patient or two.
